To any Christians

I bet this happens to people more than we think. Most people probably keep it to themselves because of the responses they know they would get like the ones here. When something like this happens and you tell someone you're looked at as crazy. I've never had the experience of Jesus speaking to me but I've definitely gotten signs. When you get a sign it's indescribable. The best way to describe it is hearing someone talking to you without words if that makes any sense. Quick story about my dad. I've heard it a dozen times and I used to think he was full of shit but as I've gotten older I believe it more and more. He claims when he was going through his divorce from my mother he quit drinking to try and help get custody of me. He was living alone and one night he cooked himself dinner. As he sat down to eat he had his head down looking at his plate. Something told him to look up. As he looked up he saw a man sitting across the table. My father said he was scared to death shaking. The man told him he had to power to give him anything he wanted including custody of me, beautiful women, and generational wealth. The only thing the man said he wanted in return was for my father to kill my mother. My father said he told him he knows who he is and that he doesn't believe in Satan. He looked down at his plate again and when he looked up again he was gone. Maybe he's full of shit but I believe this happens to people all the time. People are tempted by evil every day but there's good forces out there too. So when you get a message from God be open and listen.

So all these Mygaynors have a come to jesus moment then come over here and post about it?.
Things like this are personal and should be kept to one self.
Downzys site really is an asylum.

it's my fault, I gave him an invite to come here, back in the day, so I take full responsability here

anyway, I'm not going to add to this thread. everything has been said

I'm not planning on becoming a Bible basher and haranguing people, so chill out mate. Also, if Soul Monster sees your post taking issue with a positive and inoffensive thread like this because "Mygaynor" he absolutely 100% will fetch the tweezers to giddily wank over it. Encouraging his masturbation is a little gay, no? Not that there's anything wrong with being gay I suppose.

Personally, I don't like people like him or any of the crazy woke stuff. I'm one of the normal/traditional leftwing people who the extreme woke types apparently want to alienate. But I remember most people over at mygnr being decent folks.

Sorry to hear about what happened in Bondi btw. A mate of mine over there in Sydney said she was pretty rattled.

I don't regret my invite, seeing that latest post by @Oldest Goat

I nearly pissed my pants laughing. this guy's good.

I tell you people, he could become the new Ragnar.

After watching Project Hail Mary and coincidentally seeing the Artemis II launch on tv yesterday, I started thinking about space.

I believe that if you took an atheist to the moon, they'd change perspective. I'm not saying they'd become followers of Christ, but I would bet money they'd really start believing in a deity. None of us will see from this point of view.

I really wish one of the astronauts wrote a book about this. It would have be interesting.

You don't need to go to outer space to have a sense of wonder and awe about nature and existence.

You also don't need an old book of silly rules to try to process those feelings.

The nature of existence is far too vast for us to even comprehend an iota of it. If someone, especially an organization, tells you they have the answers, they don't. It's just bullshit. They don't have the answers because nobody does.

Was it good? I am planning on going to see it sometime this weekend. I read the book a while back. With all the negativity going on in the world I figured it would be nice to see something uplifting even though I normally prefer things on the darker side.

It's a Ryan Gosling movie.

And it's an easy watch. The movie is really long so naturally you may drift off in thought a little bit, but you will still get the gist of it if you have to use the bathroom.

Some people on the internet are comparing it to Interstellar, and I'm inclined to say that while simular in theme, the tone is different. I found Interstellar pretentious and self indulgent. This movie just gives the audience a good time. Not exactly thought provoking.

And that's why I enjoyed it. It doesn't take itself too seriously like other sci-fi movies, and I think that's why Gosling was a good pick for the lead role.

By what you just told me, it may be a good movie to watch right now. It's a movie worth checking out but it's not going to make your top ten list.

If you liked the movie, read the book. It's better and goes into so much more detail about the science and the problems and the solutions. Movie was good too, though.

Insterstellar has always sucked. Nolan is a hack dressed up in a fancy suit. He makes "smart" movies for retards. Inception is so pedestrian and tame it's a fucking insult. You have a movie where you can do anything you want in dreams and the best he can come up with is the walls turning upside down? I've had diarrhea more creative than that.

Yeah Nolan sucks. You know he's masturbating to himself while filming this Odyssey movie. It's going to be the most pompous piece of shit and people are going to eat it up with a spoon.

There are 2 kinds of people. Those stupid enough to claim they have the answers, and those smart enough to know they don't.

He didn't even have the clout or the balls to demand it to have accurate casting. There's blacks and asians all over the trailer. Helen of Troy is played by a black!!

I'll stick with the Troy director's cut. Such an awesome movie and no "people of color."

Nolan is a bargain basement Spielberg who thinks he’s Stanley Kubrick.
I see Nolan more like Coppola, he's wants to make these lavish movies about huge ideas. He's making a virtue of being pretentious and over the top. He's always risking falling flat on his face with 300 million dollar flop.

I don't think Nolan a classic story telling master filmmaker like Spielberg, it's more like shock and awe directing, Nolan has done some hugely dramatic powerful scenes but his movies lack the narrative drive and craftsmanship of a true master.

Nolan may have just done too many movies. If he'd only done Memento, Dark Knight, Oppenheimer I'd be more intrigued. But he keeps knocking out these high concept special effects orgies every other year. They can't all be Apocalypse Now, so he's probably not that profound. But good intro to a subject maybe. Is that level of production value just the new normal for audiences now?

I like Inception and Oppenheimer but not sure you put up him up there with the masters. He's not Roman Polanski is it. He's almost like Lucas, just more interested in the special effects/stage design than the camera movement or intricate series of shots, or anything experimental. He's really good at filming big events dramatically with epic music that big truck plowing through traffic, the bomb going off.
