The Vidya Game Thread

I beat Red Dead Revolver and Red Dead Redemption 100%. Started Undead Nightmare. Was not expecting it to be so funny. Comedic horror. John telling his zombie wife and son to behave themselves lol.

Pretty cool for a DLC. Seems like the same map but with a spooky overlay and a different spin on the gameplay. Gotta fight zombies who only die from headshots or fire. Scarce ammo. Very suitable for October.

Has anyone played the Minecraft? My son really likes Minecraft but I have questions.

Specifically, why can you collect food? I understand you can combine things to build stuff, but there is nowhere in the game where you eat the food. I don't see a stamina bar or anything like that.

I think you have to hold it in your hand to eat it. Move from inventory.

What about those Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Jedi: Survivor games? They look kinda cool.
Both great games but Survivor runs like an absolute pig on PC unless you have an absolute beast of a machine. I was running it on a 4090 with a 5900X CPU and there were frametime issues all over the place. Upgraded the CPU to a 9800 X3D which is pretty much the fastest gaming CPU on  the market and it's now running fine but it really shoulnd't take a $5,000 rig to play a AAA release at decent seettings with playable performance.

RDR2 is awesome but man, this game is time consuming. Feels like I need to clear my entire day to play this game.

Its also a little overwhelming. All the different mechanics. And I dont like constantly needing to watch stats and eat and clean my guns and take care of my horse. Took me a while to even understand how the cores worked. Lots of slow repetitive animations too. And I dont like crafting.

But these are minor nitpicks. The game is great. It took me a bit to get into it like the first game. It started slow and I did not like the changes to horses and gunplay at first. RDR1 you ride much faster and shoot much smoother. This feels more realistic. Not as snappy.

This looks like a mix between Golden Axe and He Man. I'm a big fan of both and really looking forward to this when it comes out later this year. They'll probably coincide with the movie in June.

I'm not much of a video game fan anymore.

I'll always love Nintendo. But what the hell are they doing? The Nintendo Switch 2 came out a year ago and we have no news about a new 3D Mario game. Their big reveal was a Ocarina of Time remake.

3D Mario is the only game I play.

all i know is, nintendo doesnt pander to culture politics, which is why im still buying their games. the oot remake artstyle is EXACTLY what i wanted

@overweight Axl rose what do you think about Halo remake so far?

Cortana looks as retarded as Halo 5. New Johnson voice actor sounds alright. But not the same.

We should do a legendary co op run together.

GTA6 pre-orders start tonight at midnight. No physical discs which to me signifies the beginning of the end of consumer ownership. There's a "physical copy" which is a case with a download code inside but no actual game disc. No disc could also be because it's a 300gb game.

they do this so they can continuously make money from you down the track, everything is a subscription service now, its pay to play. In 12 months theyll say in order to play this game you will need the latest update, updates are $9.99 a month, youll probably have to be hooked up to the internet just to play it.

Look at Adobe for example, this is just the norm now.

It's just a different world of gaming now.

The kids aren't necessarily spending a lot of money on videogames either. Two of the most popular franchises are Minecraft and Five Night's at Freddy's. You can buy both with only $37 in your wallet.

A Nintendo 64 game cost like $60 in the '90s.

Shit, really? I was very young in the 90s and I never owned Nintendo (still never have). But that seems super expensive for the 90s.

I had a PS1. I know every inch of those first 3 Crash Bandicoot and first 3 Spyro games like the back of my hand.

Yep.

Crash and Spyro are incredible btw. Play Crash 4 if you haven't already.
