Wow. That's even worse than I remember.

Other than money, I don't see the point of continuing new GNR at that point. It was going nowhere.

Pitman, from memory, got sacked for calling the reunion a nostalgia cash grab.
That may have technically been after he was fired.

There were rumors of an altercation between him and Duff during rehearsals. That was probably the end of the line.

He was right of course...but 2009-14 was a cash grab too. Just not as much cash to grab.

The close-up of the mother moving her daughters hands along to the music, because the daughter cannot do it herself, got to me. Some of these families have been through such hardships and still choose to be positive. It's just a shame that these kids were dealt such a tough hand in life, and they had to make it worse by forcing them to listen to Guns N' Roses.

UMG Italy has removed the line about vinyl exclusive.

I'm sticking with my theory that the only reason they're unloading The General like this is to symbolize the end of the Chinese era and as a thank you to hardcores for sticking it out.

I'm hoping for one more 1-2 punch (Oklahoma) but I think it's over.

He still has a signature sound, one of the most distinctive.

Within a nanosecond on Hard School you can tell it's him.

That was a nightmare. 2009-14 is the dream season on Dallas... but worse. Much worse.

My favorite and I still laugh..wish I could find the posts...were the people saying right after CD's release that the album had the greatest production in history. :Classic_Troll:

It's not even the best produced GNR album! In fact, it's the worst!

Axl and the entire production/engineering crew didn't even know how to properly insert the new additions into the songs.

This is how you paste musicians into an older demo/song:

Your assuming the band give a shit about the fanbase, they dont. That ended in 93.

To the band and especially Shiny Pants Man we are a means to an end. That end will be in 2025 when the publishing rights is up for sale. The question is what are the bands intention past 2025 once the publishing and back catalogue gets sold.  Until then, we are a means to and end. To enable the band to keep touring to be paid by promoters in the hope the fanbase in whatever numbers show up.

If anyone thinks from this bullshit birthday post its all about the fans i have a bridge to sell.

I wasn't assuming it. I'm aware that they detest us from their years on the forums and it's why they abandoned them. Their own words (TB) betray them.

It's not personal, it's more in the abstract.

So yeah ...I think they can do a send off to the era/thanks for the support without loving us.

They don't even have to be doing this. A grand total of 200-500 people want The General or even know its history...and the tour is winding down with Perhaps fading fast.

When is that message from? Before the reunion?

As far as 2025 and beyond yeah...

It's cash out/farewell.

He needs to reconsider.

No point in leaving the forums days before we're served the big enchilada. Leaving afterwards is more like it.

On this subject, I think we're going to see more of this as it becomes obvious that they're closing the door on this era.

It happened in 2008 post album release. It'll be even more noticeable now since the forums aren't as active as they were back then. What felt like minor hiccups then will be a much bigger issue.

I'll use it as an example since it's the biggest GNR site now. Mygnr. If they lost about five of their key posters, hundred page threads would quickly morph into ten page threads. A small group of people there push all the conversation.

The forums don't have a long term future if/when it becomes 100% nostalgia.
