HS and Perhaps Atlas maybe didn't fit with vibe of CD lyrically, they are more looking back at things.

Prostitute seems like it's the final say.

Axl did say he was glad he didn't do vocals for some tracks so now he could do something for them. Doing a anti Trump rant for Billionaire.

There are only 3 albums if they were going to be 40-50 minutes each.

I suspect if he had songs pegged for a third album, he didn't actually have 3 albums at that time but was operating under the idea that he and the label wouldn't do every single possible thing the wrong way and completely screw up his professional life.

Once the loaded up CD for Best Buy so that it was 75 minutes or whatever long, that probably ended the idea of stretching the CD material into a trilogy. The Anti-Quiet leak was only 9 songs and something like 45 minutes. That would be the kind of structure needed to stretch out the CD stuff to three albums. Who knows if that was the actual full album. It may have just been a portion of it.

Funny how after 20 years and counting, the King shits of hoarder mountain, dudes who live to brag, gloat, and strut down the street, have never even pretended there was the existence of a third albums worth of songs.

That's because that record is made up of songs they have already. It's how you present it.

I'm just saying when Axl talked trilogy he was thinking of a trilogy of records.

But how that material is presented in CD format kind of distorts it.

Chronologically  in terms of writing

TIL

Catcher

Madagascar

Chi dem

is Side 1 of CD I.

Riad

IRS

SOD

TWAT

Might be side 2.

To me Shackler's, Better,, ITW, Scraped, Sorry, Prostitute are 2nd record.

If you take TIL and put Riad on Side 1. More balanced

Then you have the 3rd record which lyrically looks back at the first two records

HS

Perhaps

Atlas

The General (Context)

Absurd (probably first record)

Oklahoma

Soul Monster

Nothing

Seven

The circle is much tighter than the cd album suggests. From TIL to Prostitute. Then it's reflecting on things more.

Don’t get me wrong, I’d be pumped to hear these songs, but also the goose is cooked at this point.

Perhaps would be 100x better if it was more uptempo, had rewritten lyrics, and was recorded in the same room with the same guys. It’s the same criticism for the entire project writ large.

The baffling thing is why they haven’t unloaded them. Either way, they aren’t making money off of it. All they can do is fan service and they’re not even doing that. It’s bizarre.

Yep.

This is literally the only scenario where it can work...and it's still a bit of a stretch.

It also makes you wonder if the abandoned interludes were created to help stretch each out to a full length album.

Do we have any evidence of interludes existing besides Josh Freeses drum solo on TWAT? If each record were the best 7 songs with extended solos and shit like that, it would’ve been way cooler. Then the 3 albums couldn’t even a jackpot. Ayoooooo

CD is double record.

I think they would add Silkworms and Oh my God to first record.

What's crazy is the plan was another CD in 2010?

By the looks of it they had vocals for all these songs. Off the top of my head 8-9 tracks.

I think industry wasn't that interested?

So they got Slash back and now suddenly they are primo GNR releases.

Mossad bullshit.

Makes me think RTB was the right guy for the project tbh
As it Began, Nothing, Quick Song, Zodiac.

Shoulder pads for days.

Bucket could instrumentals for the CD II cd.

If it were me Quick Song straight into Oklahoma. Nothing is great side 2 closer, As It Began ends the cd.

Double album:

Not a double album:

On The Wall there's 3 or 4 songs that are 1 or 2 minutes.

Wall is 80 minutes long.

CD is 70 minutes long.

Wall sides are 20 minutes.

ITW, TWAT, Catcher is about 20 minutes.

It looks like more on The Wall but they are 1 or 2 minute songs.

CD could fit another song on it. Another 4-5 minute song?

Both have 4 sides of vinyl. Both about 70-80 mins long.

They are both double records.

Beavan was the right guy.

He knew the score.

2000 Intentions and Chinese Democracy.

Two albums...shock and awe.

Too bad it all went to shit.
Beavan did a lot for the project I like but I think the polish of RTB is more in line for a corporate rock act. Axl should’ve just released it and tinkered further until he found the right balance and sound but of course we all know how it turned out
