Bad Apple Movie Theead

Since I posted the trailer the cunt playing Teala said Skeletor represents toxic masculinity or something along those lines. I'm still seeing it being a huge fan of the original series but my expectations have definitely took a nose dive. The backstory of Skeletor becoming Skeletor from the comics is actually pretty sad so this bitch is obviously talking nonsense.

lol it's ass.

@Bill Brasky ... early spoiler free reviews are pouring in for Masters of the Universe and they're unanimously positive. Nothing but very good reviews from old school fans and people who never saw He Man. Have no fear my friend this will indeed be awesome. I'm going Sunday night with my cousin to see it in IMAX and can't fucking wait!

Let me know after you see it. I don't want it to suck. I used watch the Dolph Lundgren version on vhs all the time as a kid and had a He Man sword.

Hey Bill just saw MOTU last night in IMAX and I fucking loved it. It's not perfect but I feel like they hit a home run. The effects were amazing, the villains were legit, and it really felt like the cartoon brought to life. Not even slightly woke. In fact it was more so promoting masculinity. I left the theater wishing I could sit through a second showing. I'm going again with my kids on father's day in two weeks. And it's definitely set up for a sequel.

I'm happy to hear this. I'm watching this this afternoon.

I am a '90s kid. My first time seeing He-Man was on a cruise ship in the '000s. I was like "What the fuck is this shit? It's ridiculous."

I loved it though.

I hope you enjoy it. I got my tickets for me and the kids for Sunday. So I guess I'm a little older than you. I grew up in the 80s. He Man was the absolute shit when I was 4 and 5 years old. I still remember coming in the house every day at 4pm excited for the new episode. And having this brought to live action 43 years later is something I never thought I'd see.

Yeah I loved the cartoon. Fun movie. My only grievences were;

1. no Orko,
2. I wish there was the "He-Man" overdub on the music when he wields the sword, it adds to it a lot!
3. Skeletor doesn't have his high pitched voice.
4. Lack of Cringer. Needs more Cringer and Battle Cat.

What I did like;

1. The soundtrack was awesome. Really good. Captures the '80s perfectly.
2. The part where He-Man grabs the chainsaw bike with his hands and flings the guy. That was badass.
4. Edris Eldra
5. The action sequences.
6. The plot. Basic but faithful.
7. The main lead was good.
8. When he wields the sword and yells, "I have the power!" Well done. Like I know that's basic but it's important not to fuck that part up.

Fun movie. 8/10. I really missed Orko. It looks like he'd show up in a sequel but he would have been good here.

Yea man there's plenty of characters they can get in for the sequel. Merman, Stratos, Hordak, She Ra, Panthor, and lots of others could be brought in for the future. At least they squeezed Orko in at the end. Would have been cool to see more Battle Cat but I think this movie was more about Adam becoming He Man so when the sequel comes out Battle Cat will be more involved. When the next movie starts he'll already be He Man. But yea it wasn't perfect by any means. The music was great and it was just a simple fun movie with plenty of action and humor. As far as Skeletor's voice I feel like they had to change it for the movie to make him a little more of a serious threat. In the original cartoon he was more of a goofy villain with a funny voice and laugh. Jared Leto did a solid job imo making Skeletor more of a serious villian while still keeping his sense of humor. Glad you liked it. 8/10 seems to be a pretty solid consensus everyone's been giving it.

Its crazy that Im not going to see a new Star Wars movie for the first time in my life(?). But I could not care less about the Mandalorian and Grogu. Even the name is ridiculous. Who approved that?

Its like they saw the Gulp Shitto meme and decided "let's make that our title".
