Axl's horrible vocals during this tour finally going viral!!! [Negative articles about GNR]

Everyone should see AC/DC live at least once. Always incredibly loud and powerful.

Here's to Angus Young. The only person to ever forcibly extract good performances out of Axl. And the man responsible for the last we ever heard of Axl's classic voice.

I saw AC/DC on the recent run and Brian sounds way better than he has a right to. There might be a loss in power but he still sounds 85% Johnno. Axl sounds like 4 different guys that can’t sing delivering a song.

If anyone has the chance to see Acca Dacca and is on the fence I’d say go. I enjoyed that gig as much as I did my first AcDc show 30 years ago.
Brian uses gain control on his Mic. Axl should consider something like this. It might be why he seemed so at ease singing for ACDC.

CH: Do you judge your microphones differently when you know they have to withstand excessive stage volume?

PB: You have to mic this band with a few things in mind. The first is audio quality and will it do its job, but equally important is the mic’s rejection qualities. You’ve got to try and get some separation, otherwise you’ll just have guitar in everything – especially with Brian Johnson roaming the stage with his handheld mic. Johnno is a great singer with a very distinctive voice, but his is not a massively powerful voice. And the style of his singing and the frequencies in his voice don’t give you a lot of gain to punch through in a mix.

We’re all getting on too don’t forget, and Brian’s into his 60s. He’s still a fantastic performer, but his vocal gets weaker as the show progresses and the gain goes up on the microphone to compensate – that’s not only for me out front but also in the stage monitors. And suddenly you have what’s like a super-sensitive, high-gain overhead microphone on stage walking in and out of pockets of intense guitars and drums. So a mic’s rejection characteristics are quite critical.

:retrommmhmm:  What? He'll just sound like a more amplified Mickey Mouse choking on a McMuffin.
He may sound like that because he's having to generate all the power himself.

I thought it was interesting that BJ has a booster mic and I bet Axl doesn't use anything.

The strange thing is Axl is Mickey from the start and keeps it up for 3 hours without trying. He's not struggling.

Oh, I get it.

Still...he's not struggling to be beyond terrible  :retrommmhmm:
Mickey isn't the worst part, it's when his vocals are too low to hear or it breaks down mid lyric.

But start to finish is the same. There are just parts and phases he can't pull off.

It doesn't get worse as the show goes on. The vocals are consistent the whole show.

His vocals go from Mickey to grandma depending what songs is played, and it seems he goes into grandma mode when trying to regulate and control his breathing.

By the time he gets to the end of coma with the long squeal his voice packs it in because theres no power in his voice anymore.

But from the opening song "Welcome to the Jungle" the audience experiences how a cult band, which played together for the first time 40 years ago, tears up their own monument. Those responsible at the mixing console had apparently suffered a heat stroke, because only untuned, overdriven sound garbage swells from the speakers at the beginning.

Axl Rose squeezes the notes out, tigers across the stage, as if he had to measure them. He dances on one leg, snares like a horse with his hooves, bravely reaches into the room a few times and throws the micro stand. The frontman, who is the only one who is a member of the band continuously, wants to give everything, but his most important tool fails the service.

A decade ago, a study showed that the rock singer has the most diverse and variable voice of his guild. But there is nothing left of that. For years, fans have wondered whether an illness or the temporary time at AC/DC 2016 is to blame for the fact that everything from low to high tones only sounds tormented. There are countless memes on the Internet that title him as Mickey Mouse.

Duff McKagan wears his birth year 1964 on the leather vest. The outfits can only be described, because photographers were forbidden to work at the concert.

The great musical skills of the band, despite all the obvious shortcomings, always ensures cheers of the 38,000 fans and a few special moments in between. "Live and Let Die" is celebrated, at "Yesterdays" Rose torments herself again.

With "November Rain" the mobile phones light up, only the voice of the frontman makes no one shine again. Whenever the atmosphere is finally there, the group is back in the idle time.

On the way home, the followers discuss passionately. "I'm so disappointed," scolds one. "That was the worst concert I've ever been to," says his next man. "Well, it was good in terms of craftsmanship," appeases a third party. No question: Düsseldorf suffered from real legends that evening.

But starting with the opening song, "Welcome to the Jungle," the audience witnesses a cult band that first played together 40 years ago tearing down its own legacy. The people in charge at the mixing desk must have suffered heatstroke, because at the beginning, only uncoordinated, overdriven sound garbage pours out of the speakers. Feedback can be heard repeatedly until the end.

Axl Rose squeezes out the sounds, pacing the stage as if he were measuring it. He dances on one leg, paws his hooves like a horse, boldly grabs his genitals a few times, and throws the microphone stand. The frontman, the only continuously active member of the band, wants to give it his all, but his most important tool fails.

A decade ago, a study revealed that the rock singer had the most diverse and variable voice in his field. But that's all gone. For years, fans have wondered whether an illness or his stint as a stand-in with AC/DC in 2016 is to blame for the fact that everything from the low to the high notes sounds strained. There are countless memes online that refer to him as Mickey Mouse.

It's not without a certain irony that Guns N' Roses subtitled their current world tour with the following sentence: "Because what you want & what you get are two completely different things." In the Düsseldorf stadium on Wednesday evening, too, the gap between wish and reality was wide open. Anyone expecting an unforgettable rock concert must have gone home pretty disappointed. Because instead they got: terrible sound at times and a voice on a rollercoaster ride. Only half an hour late – die-hard fans consider it punctual – the American rock legends took the stage in front of 37,000 fans, with around 8,000 seats remaining empty. Already in the first song, "Welcome to the Jungle," the voice of frontman Axl Rose was almost completely drowned out, and the sound seemed poorly mixed.

My personal review:
I couldn't have said it better, Axl's voice was completely broken and definitly heaps more broken than the last time i heard him in 2023. Slash really saved the day besides that the new drummer is a huge improvement really noticable.  What i also noticed is that it seemed that Melissa and Duff's mics where very loud and clearly to cover up Axl's fuck ups. Who else wonders why they always use audio from the classic era in their promo's to support this tour and aftermovies from the gigs they play. Just to cover shit up, i saw a blind person with a blind stick entering the stadium and imagined how it would be if you could only focus on audio.
So i do have to say that Axl worked really hard he looked fitter than ever nitl era and it was a f'n' marathon show while it was hot as fuck in that stadium with horrible accoustics. Axl trying fucking hard fit as fuck playing a 3 hour show is a much welcome attitude, normally he seems unprepared, fat as fuck and uninterested. Despite that it was sad to see how often axl's voice just broke down an often after screaming parts he would sing and his lips moved on screen but there was no sound. It was my 21st time and without any doubt my last!! Main reason to go was because it was my only chance to show my 15 year old son the band i used to love live.
But then i realised i showed him the worst version of it and on top of that they played CITR one of the worst newgnr songs ever made and i already went pissing during alot of "new songs" which are all pure garbage.
I even filmed a bit of that shit, why? i have no fucking clue.

He needs to just retire.

His voice is gone, ACDC took whatever voice he had left.

And why the fuck are they playing The General?. A mood killer.

It might have worked alongside Oh My God, Silkworms, IRS etc back at the turn of the century with "New GNR"...but nobody wants the Slash and Duff, RNFNR GNR to be trotting out songs like that.

Their performance doesn't sound very convincing either.

I wonder if The General may have been very different back then to the version we got. Where it may have been guitar driven like Monshters.

In my view all these CD songs are B and C list songs and these are the ones Faxl wants released.

The A songs like Monshters will never get played or released.

It defies logic. Such a shit band.

I like a lot of those instrumental things on the locker leaks more than a fair few tracks that ended up on the Chinese Democracy album.

I say, don't retire

because, then we have less than nothing

what good is it, if the ferrari is left in the garage, even if the ferrari is on its last legs

you dont drive an old timer, to be the fastest car on the road. you drive it, for the experience, for nostalgia, for a mood trip down memory lane. under the hood, everything is broken and rusty, but the chrome still shines

that said

"it gets worse here every day"

i've listened / watched a clip of the new tour (pretty tied up), and I decided I will not ever watch a new live clip of GNR again, or go to a concert of theirs.

I needed to watch the YCBM ritz clip, to cure the depression it induced

holy moly, coming fresh of watching the blu ray, to watching a 2025 live clip, is like watching dying corpses on stage. it's pretty damn disturbing.
