My mother likely has a terminal illness. Things were looking hopeless for the last couple months. And her condition is getting worse pretty rapidly.
Doctor was convinced its corticobasal syndrome. If so, she wouldn't have many years left and would lose all independence. But we were able to get her into one of the best hospitals for this kinda thing in PA (they didnt have an appointment until June but as we were on the phone they had a cancelation and were able to get her in the next day). And these doctors think there is a chance something else is wrong with her. Either way, it's not good. But its some hope. They started her on Parkinsons medication. But whether it helps her and whether she is able to tolerate the meds is up in the air.
I've had a while to process this and it still doesn't seem real.
