I never listen to contraband these days, it's really bland and cringeworthy at times. Slash's playing was absolutely shit and not a great power riff in sight.

If I had to pick one truly great album, hidden in plain sight, then I have to go with slashs 2010 album. In fact, thinking about this album makes me want to listen to it again. I even like the dumb fergie song. Fergie is smoking hot.

 
Izzy's solo albums are listenable. Ju ju hounds, 117 Degrees, Like a Dog have elements of old GNR without being too glitzy.

I still have that Classic Rock magazine shown earlier in this thread.

I certainly don't remember anything about the label dropping them- Scott was no showing and or sabotaging shows, him and Scrotum got into it and they fired him, that's how I remember it.

Yep agree with @Johnny Ramone post to. Weiland got the shits over Sorums backstage parties with chicks where the parties were like harems. Weiland found the parties cringy when the wives joined them on tour.

I think that info was in the same mag.

In between the fights and Debra and Slash replasing on drugs and alcohol,  i thought those were the reasons the band ended.

Maybe the failed sales of Libertad may have a reason to.

I saw them 2 nights in Dublin on that very last week of shows and Weiland gave his all in fairness. Slash I think may have been off his tits someway, I was front row one of the nights and he deliberately spat a cigarette out of his gob right at the back of a security guys head the security guy did nothing to warrant it. 
 

I think I have that Classic Rock issue lying around and from memory there was issues between Weiland & Sorum over backing vocals along with Matt’s parties. 

 
It seemed a lot like GNR, as they went off the rails they blamed the singer and accepted no responsibility. Matt was even trying to fight Weiland. It was kind of like the UYI tour without the success and hit singles. Libatard was pretty good, they must have caught the start of the cd sales drop off. 

 
Had forgotten about Scott hearing voices on stage 😆

One thing I liked about Weiland was that he detested Matt Sorum.

 
Basically they need a very very sober humble singer so they can pretend to dangerously relapse and talk about rehab in interviews. Either OD in a bathtub full of strippers or do the exclusive The Wasted Show crying about your battle with Vicodin addiction. What are we doing here? They can't handle a proper frontman -  a bi polar megalomaniac meth head who shows up late and high on crystal putting the whole tour and wives shopping trips in jeopardy. This is a real problem.  Actually the best thing about Slash is he claimed to be sober while being shitfaced for the whole of VR. He's also very good at guitar, which is like me eating salad, they has to be an upside to this at some point.
