I miss the good old days

5 Years til Doomsday.

They need to do a 20-30 minute version of Circus Maximus by 2030.

Axl can whisper all the lyrics inspired by Gladiator and Lord of the Rings.
Circus Maximus/Seven will be on the soundtrack to America Bankruptcy. The video will feature footage from the CIA’s attempted assassination of Elon Musk, the man who tried to prevent American Bankruptcy with DOGE, and take man to Mars with Space X.

Musk could produce Maximus and use it to explain how the CIA will be replaced by Central Artificial Intelligence and the Dollar replaced by Bitcoin backed digital currency. All Fiat currencies will be converted to Trump coin.

American Technocracy 2030.

If the locker leaks are anything to go by, I agree.
Thats the question.

Why didnt the band embrace and capitalise on the locker leaks?.

Rather than Axl getting the shits and viewing the leaks like the early 2000s era of Napster file sharing, GNR could have dropped CD2 officially.

The village leaks could have been used for publicity for a new album.

The bands dumb.

"The Locker Leak Tour".

I feel sad for anyone who didn’t experience GNR realtime circa 87-93.
Well not sad, fuck em, but yknow what I mean? They’ll never know how electric it all was back then.

The good old days of seeing GNR meant having one tenth of your entire police force, 800 cops, at the gig and the IRA selling bootleg shirts and tapes on the roads in.

It started with a 'United Ireland'. It ended with knocked-off bullet logo tees (and kidnapping Shergar).

I missed the 80's.

Rock is dead.

Have you seen the kids these days? They're too fucking dumb to play the guitar. Well they're too stupid to do anything really. The kids are dumb as shit.

We are doomed.

Music is dead. The two most popular genres are pop and rap. Pop music peaked in the 80’s with Prince, Whitney, Madonna, and Michael Jackson. And rap peaked in the 90’s with Cube, Dre, Snoop, 2Pac, and Biggie. Taylor Swift is somehow as popular as Michael Jackson. And that bitch ain’t got no songs.

My guitar teacher says all the kids want to learn these days is Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift songs.

If you know two chords you can play their entire catalogue. Pretty much anyway.

They've never heard of anything before they were born because there are no music collections to pass down.

Nobody steals their older siblings playlists like

It's depressing

Digital streaming has been one of the worst things ever. Especially with music.

I pretty much just buy and listen to old vinyl now

I have loads of musician friends - people who have played with the likes of Nick Cave, Primal Scream, The Pogues and who have had hits singles and albums in the charts.

They are struggling on government subsidies. It shouldn't be like this.

Live music venues, bars and clubs are closing everywhere.

People in their 20s are holed up at home glued to social media, with no money and no social life.

The scene is dead. Music is dead. Genuine creativity is ignored in favour of some tart in a corset shaking her arse in front of young teens.

Musicians being poor after fame is nothing new.

What I don’t get about the young generation is the sheer lack of fuckery and get up and go they have.

Between 93-99 I played in a shit load of bands. I would say 90% of them only existed because we needed somewhere to go get drunk and stoned and be around people who weren’t judgey fuckers. I played in bars, fields, sheds, abandoned houses, woods, anywhere there was no “adults” around…. the current generation seem to just get fucked up on pills and stay in their parents houses fucking around online. There’s no “outlaw” mentality amongst them that was essential to music scenes for decades.

All the things music once provided, community, expression, DIY, the gathering of the tribes, the coded messages that liking a certain band gave out, all these things have been replaced by the Internet. Music was always more than music now it’s just music. It’s in movies, video games, TV, it’s just part of entertainment now in a way it never before was.

Fuck the young cunts, they don't deserve the good times we had. They haven’t earned them.

No but not making anything from actually making music is new - previously they had CD sales that generated income. That's all gone now with streaming.

And now live music venues are closing everywhere here so touring income is drying up too. That's unheard of.

Why would they want you living it up

on a piece scrap land with cans of special brew and  a guitar when you could be at home shopping online and  having your data collected?

Social engineering innit. They change the environment so you change your behavior. Eg never leave the house because you's only do that to get abducted or attacked by a teen. Amazon delivers everything why go to a shop and risk it.

If it's free, you are the product.

They don't only want your money they want your info or data about who you are and what you listen to so they can sell you toothpaste using yacht rock and age/location/race.

Even exercize has been dataized. You can't just run outside, you have to go to a gym to run on a machine that monitors you. Your exercize must be recorded. They are only half way there but as soon as your phone is monitoring your heart rate data or km run...

Electric vehicles aren't just cars they are data collection devices. Online cars generating data for more control and efficiency.

If the  price of empire is terrorism, the price of freedom is mass data collection of your musical taste.

The ironic things is Swift doesnt write her own songs. Has a team of songwriters who write lyrics and she picks and chooses the lyrics.

Shes a gimmick.

I think there are bands and scenes out there they just don't go mainstream anymore because industry isn't interested or can't afford the problems/effort. They just get the talented guy or want to create an AI band. Where's Denim and Menswear now?

But it's a Catch 22 or double edged sword. Do you really want bands that go mainstream? Do you only listen to bands because they were processed and presented to you or sold enough to chart? I remember people finding subpop bands then turning their shirts inside out cos they were ashamed Mudhoney signed to Geffen.

There was probably a point where what I listened to was to most people what the fuck is this shit. But it became mainstream. Sort of.

It's funny though when bands got money from labels and had to do videos they said they hated it. But as soon as there was no money or industry they all complain about it. You can get your music out the easiest ever now and see no punk bands on youtube. Obviously thats probably some Paypal mafia honey trap but I don't know. It used to be we're fighting the record industry to get out music out how we want it. But when the industry fucked off and the internet gave them freedom, they gave up. And now you can release it easiest ever but no one knows you exist.

I think the money has to be there to get a Alan McGhee to start Creation records to sign Mary Chain or Oasis.

I guess you could fuck around in garage bands, do shows, it goes nowhere and you end up playing FortNight or whatever instead. How long are you going to last with no traction.

We all know this is the end.

Sure they might tour here and there the next couple of years but Axl is 63 and in decent shape but his voice is shot.

Slash is going to be 60 this year and has a pacemaker.

We may get one cd leftover album which we have heard half of the songs of already.

So what does anyone really expect ?

I read that Slash's pacemaker was removed.

Other than that, what you laid out is what I expect.

Slash will end up being a guitar God when we lose the last of the 60s and 70s guys in the next decade.

Pitman flees the US after selling the completed New GNR version of CD II to some guy in the UAE.
