BREAKING: INCOMPLETE AXL/DC SOUNDBOARD LEAKED

I truly believe the reason he sounded so good then and so shitty now is because he went all out, 110% for this handful of AC/DC shows and completely destroyed his voice permanently.

He's not even singing...he's just fucking screaming. Sounds awesome and raspy, but it came at a price.

Fantastic to finally have some soundboards of it, cause it's literally the last hurrah Axl's voice.

Yea, 2016 was really his last year to prove himself and he fuckin did it. Just listen to Back In Black, 100% full throttle while singers half his age would've been holding back. The Bon songs he's definitely not just screaming and he still uses a fair bit of rasp.

But by the end of he US run he was already kinda fucked. His voice was consistently cracking on For Those About To Rock and Hell's Bells... Axl himself even said in one of those promo interviews before the tour started, if you sing Hell's Bells wrong you won't be singing right again... the damage he did with AC/DC might have been recoverable if he hadn't toured nonstop for 2 full years afterwards.

100% Even by the USA AC/DC shows his voice was cracking like crazy and it never really did before.

Axl hired back his old vocal coach Ron Anderson to prep for the AC/DC tour

It had to have just been mostly that - Axl sounded like absolute dogshit at the Troubadour show earlier in 2016 where he broke his leg

From 2017 to 2020 he sounded basically the same as he did from 2011-2014 - Mickey, but at least he cold sustain notes

And then Axl got sick with pneumonia/possibly COVID in 2021 and never really recovered after that

I guess since they never released any music, I would prefer Axl going all out and blowing out his voice for 20 shows than sounding mediocre for 3 years lol

I remember after Axl and Baz had their falling out, Baz was interviewed around 2013 when Axl's voice sounded terrible and asked what advice he'd give

Baz responded: "have a smoke, bro"

It might be as simple as that - Axl was reportedly on the straight and narrow for a decade until Baz started him back on drugs and I'm assuming cigarettes/cigars from 2006-2010

Nah there's definitely pics of him with cigars and the long braids, so 02-04ish.

But I don't think it's a coincidence that the best nuGNR years were when he was drinking, smoking and snorting regularly.

I just looked at the setlist - this was one of the three shows where Axl sang "Touch Too Much"

He sang it 5/22/16 (Prague), 6/12/16 (Aarhus) and 6/15/16 (Dusseldorf)

I specifically remember from one of the "Touch Too Much" audience recordings during the 2016 tour Axl had a cold or something and apologized for how he sounded - was it this show?

No, from what I remember this was the best Touch Too Much he did. I think the one where he had a cold was Prague?

Nah 2018 onwards has been way worse than 2011-2014. Imo

2018 onwards didn't have Dj Ashba so it wins by default.

Nah, Axl was coasting but could still pull out the classic voice. Ticket prices were reasonable and arenas sound better than stadiums. I'd take 2011 over 2018-now, by far.

2011 Axl and any random lineup of session musicians would be better than what we have now though, to be fair.
