Bigelow lite but as watchable as the end of the world is going to be.

Carpenter. Jacobsen’s book is more exciting than any Hollywood movie. Even if we don’t start a nuclear war, an accident is statistically inevitable. It felt like I'd seen it before.
It was like the Annie Jacobsen Nuclear War: A Scenario the TV movie.
The Carpenter one or the 2005 remake?
We are like Bodhi waiting for the 50 year wave. The Nuke Wave would be the ultimate surfing experience.Carpenter. Jacobsen’s book is more exciting than any Hollywood movie. Even if we don’t start a nuclear war, an accident is statistically inevitable.
I was left very like, "ugh, this whole thing has just been a metaphor hasn't it?" They could have made it more interesting, but I wasn't impressed.Watched If I Had Legs I’d Kick You. Could have used a few more laughs but I still enjoyed it. Not one I would recommend to most people though.
Waves of shit. I kept thinking it was going to get even darker. They don’t make very good movies anymore. Sinners, Weapons, and One Battle After Another are about it for 2025. I think Marty Supreme will be good too, but that doesn’t come out until Christmas.I was left very like, "ugh, this whole thing has just been a metaphor hasn't it?" Nice. I'm a huge fan of Kubrick. Would love to see his films on IMAX especially 2001.Went and saw The Shining at the movie theatre IMAX. Was a real treat.

Just fyi the extended US cut of The Shining, which is the most common version now, actually is inferior and bloated. The International/European cut has much better pacing and is Kubrick's preferred version.
Recently got around to seeing Doctor Sleep. Saw the director's cut. I'm very impressed. Was far, far better than expected and not only respected Kubrick's iconic original but in a nice cathartic way made it even better. Might be the greatest sequel ever made.
Also recently watched the Criterion remaster of Eyes Wide Shut. They did a good job. Wish Kubrick hadn't died before final cut.
