Panda Red Legend?

Seems like Thyme was some kind of intro to PRL.

Again looks like the best songs were used.

ITW, Shackler's, Sorry

The cell phone recording sounds terrible but there's a couple things that can be heard - the orchestral melodies from the 2006-10 concert intros, and screaming vocals that are nothing like what we heard on SOG.
The cellphone clip was trade bait.

There is a long history of manipulation of audio that's used for trade bait.

Evader did his best with what he had to work with and shared with the community because he's a good good.

Now take the intro that has been confirmed to as the general and put state of grace at the end of it.

Now imagine pasted guitars and sound effects vox and caram noises. Cd is fulled of examples of that shacklers being the best example of it.

There's 4 Beltrami songs. Period.

Seven

Thyme

Soul Monster

The General

These were instrumentals that Beltrami was adding orchestration and melodies to in fall 2002.

There were zero vocals/lyrics for any of these songs in 2003 at the earliest...2007 the latest.

Yeah Seven was his favorite and according to the same article that mentioned it, Thyme was never worked on again after those sessions.

In other words, Thyme is another "big gun" hyped for years that's not even a big gun. Just an instrumental with potential.

Only way Thyme was finished is if he went back to it during that brief spell in 2007 he was working on the record. What are the chances of that? :Classic_Troll:

What you're referring to at the end is something that has yet to be properly explained by anyone...Beltrami getting album credits on Buckmaster tracks and of course, This I Love.

Inept liner notes? Frankensteined songs with some of Beltrami's work buried in the CD mix?
So if there were no vocals to these songs until 03-07 that would rule out The General as SOG.  SOG had vocals in 2000.

Majority did, as in SOD, Twat, Madagascar, Prostitute, This I Love.

The General had vocals according to Baz.
Soul Monster seemed to get vocals in 2006.
Seven is another Brain talked about but never seen anything suggesting a vocal just a chorus.
Thyme just seems like an intro, never seen it referred to as a big gun.

So Beltrami worked on 9 songs.

Or the information about them is incorrect.  Gnr and the people who have worked with them don't have the best track record of being correct on timelines.

Merck said Zotuat hadn't heard what Chinese democracy became in 05 in response to the nyt story.

Why are you saying it got lyrics in 2007 though? It's very possible but curious your reasoning.
I was giving it the benefit of the doubt. Best case scenario for that song is he went back to it when finally getting around to wrapping it up in 2006-7. We know he worked on a few songs at that point.

Many people dont know that.
This next sentence will blow their mind...

We never got the full Skwerl leak.

Good point.

Brasky had a good counter...so much time has went by and so little work done, they started cannibalizing their own songs.

We're not going to know until we hear it.

Beltrami was crystal clear...and only commented a couple times on the project.

Four songs.

1...2...3...4.

Uno...Dos...Tres... Cuatro

Wooly Bully.

No offense...but anything beyond that is fantasy booking the Chinese saga.

The albums liner notes are notoriously unreliable and embarrassing. I'll choose Beltrami's own words over Team Brazil's work on the liner notes every day and twice on Sunday.

I do agree that deserves an official explanation but none will be forthcoming.

Knowledge is not a advantage.

The stuff in the ether and lost to time and selfish fucks makes one care less. Only so many rabbits can be pulled out of the hat.

I don't know if we will ever get that close again.

It's the community's Presidio heights.

The vault was walking up Washington and cherry.

There was nothing clear.
That's what I was saying, he only said 4 songs. But there are 9 tracks mentioned. I'm not sure what the question is but it's not were they all songs.

It was more like are there only 4 songs or 5? And they all have different names. Is there overlap? Seems not.

He says he worked on 4 songs, But none of them are on CD. But 5 of the songs on CD he worked on. But they aren't the 4 he mentioned. He doesn't say there were 7 or 8.

The time elapsing doesn't signify much. Between basic track, orchestra, then vocals I don't think there's much struggle or writing sessions. The process is the same. They just had songs at different stages of completion, but the mission was basically complete by 2004.

We never got the full Skwerl leak.
Can everyone stop being rollerbladers and other deviant lifestyle enjoyers and just spill the beans on all the drama?

Who has the rest of the Skwerl songs? What songs were they?

I'm so tired. I just want some Chinese food.

So much time has transpired I've forgotten more than I remember.

I do know this...

The fan base came awfully close to getting it all the summer of 08. Cooler (shittier) heads prevailed and we got the 07 song leaks + 3 bonuses(If the World, Riad, and Prostitute) while the rest got hoarded.

Kinda funny, ironic, whatever, that the album itself  months later would be the leaks + 3 bonuses.

It really pisses me off knowing that both albums have been in circulation since 2004 and the fan base as a whole should've been listening to it all since 07-08.

They may have circulated even earlier on the Velvet Rope. That is the nexus for a lot of this stuff. It was conveniently written out of the narrative for GNR forum consumption.

The wrong people got access to all those songs.

Didn't all this stuff almost leak out in 2011 or 12?  I don't remember enough details on that to even comment. I was fading away from the forums at that point. It was during that Red Panda crap.

In a nutshell...

Enough material for two albums was locked and loaded, ready to go, on a launch pad in the hoarders hands.

For reasons I don't fully recall, they backed off but leaked what became known as the skwerl leak.

Who has the rest of the Skwerl songs?
The hoarders. There's really no point in naming them at this point. It should've been obvious back then who had it.

I like a couple of them(I used to anyways) so I'm not gonna put a target on their back.

Funny thing...

Most aren't even on the forums anymore. Got sick of it and moved on.  I also think it dawned on them that they have everything.

What songs were they?
The songs we're still waiting for. :Classic_Troll:

It's a shame they don't just leak it. New GNR doesn't exist anymore, there's no gold at the end of the rainbow. The locker leaks were a nice moment for everyone. I'd love to see that happen again.

Unfortunately I don't remember the exact track list but a big clue is probably that one MSL email thing that came out a couple years later that contained a list of CD II tracks.

Yes it needs to come out. One major hoarder has already died. There's no more songs to acquire. It's just pure selfishness that keeps it all hoarded.

For shits and giggles..

If you could pick one:

Second half of Skwerl or the rest of the Locker Leak?

Probably the Skwerl set. I'd miss Josh Freeses drumming but we'd be gaining polished versions of the songs with Buckethead. The only leaks I really listen to very much are the Eddie Trunk ones.

Here's the CD II songs from that email:

Cuban Skies
The General
Atlas Shrugged
Soul Monster
Silkworms (Absurd)
Thyme
Goin Down
Tonto
Monstrocity
Nothing
Jackie Chan (Hard School)
Perhaps
OMG2
4 Heavens
Light My Fire

Light My Fire
I'm pretty sure this was on a setlist in 2006 or something. People wrote it off as a Doors cover. Anyway, would be great to hear all of those. No idea how some of them got turned into full songs.

The notable omission is Oklahoma.

Probably got it's 3rd or 4th title change by that point and it's on the list above.

Imagine so little productivity in a major band you continually give songs new titles while cannibalizing others.

I suppose it helped alleviate the boredom.

Like Tommy said:

No matter what happened,  it always came back to the same set of songs.

Speaking of song titles above getting mentioned...

Remember that crap about Motormouth that was labeled fake? It was a probably a screw up and they meant Monstrosity.
