How is Axl not chronically bored at this stage?

The most messed up thing as dating in my 30s when the age swings like 25-45 is that sometimes I have to sit back and think "what was she doing on 9/11".

It's ironic because I wasn't very old on 9/11, but when 25 year old women can't answer that question you know you're getting fucking old. I assume given that Axl is in his 70s, his version of this question is "Was she worried during the Cuban missile crisis".
If they using they finger to type on they phone itsa sure thing player.

I’d love it if they ate humble pie, gave in and called Izzy, and then all went to record and Izzy just no showed and told them to fuck off. Basically what he’s done with this sham reunion anyway but get them all geared up and then blow the cunts off. That would be perfect.
Izzy will come in with 7 half written songs and Slash and Duff will riff over them and they will tour with Gilby/Adler and tickets will be $10,000. And everyone will kill each other to get see it.

This band is a joke. I'm ashamed they were my favorite band at one time.

Legit, I have a fear that someone close to me finds out that I am a GNR fan, and thinks they are doing something nice by gifting us tickets to go together.

I could go alone, because it's easy enough to wear a hat and a hoodie and just blend in, but going with someone else you have to actually explain "no, no, he didn't used to sound like this".

I know the money is good, but it must be depressing for Duff and Slash when they run into the guys from Metallica or The Red Hot Chili Peppers. Big bands from GNR’s generation who still go out there and tour with new albums. Even The Rolling Stones, who are now in their 80’s, are about to release their second new album in the past few years. And meanwhile over at Camp GNR they are launching their brazillionth tour of Brazil behind a couple of new songs that Axl recorded the vocals for 25 years ago.

They've done at least a few live shows and Ozzy records with Chad Smith, but I can't imagine guys from those bands really consider GNR to be on their level. Slash and Duff as individuals might be in that league, since they'll play on basically anything if the money is right, and regularly release their own stuff... but everyone knows GNR is just a touring jukebox.

I expect more Slash/Duff media interviews where they will mention writing new music in order to drum up ticket sales.
Im hoping Slash gets called out on it so the fans know when it comes to a newly written album hes full of shit, and Axl has zero interest in songwriting.
Its rehashed 25 year old CD songs till the end baby.
Axl would rather add and do a trainwreck versions of PC, RNDTH to keep tickets sold then even contemplate newly written music.
Sad.

The funny part is that any lyrics he could write these days would be just as shit as Duff's, and Duff has '70 songs' he wants to release. It's not even a matter of songwriting. They used outside writers even in the 80s. He just couldn't give less of a shit about GNR, outside of touring being his day job.

In terms of GNR being Axls day job, your right.
While Muff and Slash want to do another album, all Axl wants to do is tour, jump on stage wearing shiny jackets and vocally embarass himself for 3 hours.
At 64 what could Axl write about?., being onstage singing with Billy Joel?.
In order for Axl to tell Slash to shut the fuck up, im hoping Axl agrees to sing on a VR outake song and be a B side to whatever shit A side CD leftover gets released.

Izzy has and will always be the only one of them to never sell out.

Seeing Izzy must remind Axl he's a hypocrite in my opinion.

I always liked Izzy the most and the way he fucked them off when this thing came together only strengthened it. Knowing your self worth and not allowing someone to taint your values by insulting that…. Good on the guy. He could have taken the money and barked like a dog for the fat man with the shit voice and his Brazilian nutswinging circus that lick his ass but he got the fuck out of it and stayed out of it.

They used to be bigger then those groups before nugnr.

It must have mind fucked Axl.
Izzy telling him to split the loot equally or get fucked.

To me it's clear Hardschool is about Izzy so you know that Izzy lives rent free in Axl's mind.

True. Axl also used to be able to sing, and Slash used to have an incredible tone. 30+ years later, somehow Anthony Kiedis is the better frontman, and Metallica and RHCP are some the best examples of what legacy bands should be.

Has anyone nosedived harder than Axl? At least guys like Anthony, Vince Neil, etc have the excuse of never being great singers... I don't know if the nugnr era was really more damaging to the brand than the Motley Crue esque touring circus of the 2020s... but Axl has never been able to get out of his own way.

The 96-02 era did no harm to the GNR brand
The 2002 VMA'S did a lot of damage.

In 2006 Axl came back sounding great but as soon as Chinese Democracy leaked and was later released the mythical album was a massive disappointment and failure to the majority of fans and mainstream media.

Azoff was right !
The band reuniting in 2009 after Chinese Democracy was released was the best thing for GNR brand in my opinion.

Really?

I actually really liked their last album. I feel like it doesn't get the credit it deserves.

Everybody dismisses new material from legacy bands, and I understand why because the track record isn't great, but Hackney Diamonds was really good. I'd even go as far to say it's probably among their best.

Heard a snippet of a raw, raucous blues number the other day (no vox).
Pretty encouraging.
Andrew Watt is the producer again.
