BREAKING: MONSTERS AND FULL VERSION OF CHILDREN OF THE REVOLUTION IN HQ LEAKED

I don't know. One could argue Robin Fink leaving killed NUGNR.
Absolutely! I think because of how many lineup changes happened it may get downplayed, but I think the Finck departures hurt Axl the most personally. If Slash is the sound that most people think of when they hear GNR, I think in Axl's heart when he thinks GNR he wants it to sound like Finck.

I posted this part below in a different thread but it's relevant here as well:

I think Slash leaving in '96, Finck leaving in '99, Bucket leaving in '04, and Finck leaving again in '08 are just as seminal moments to Axl as any of the relationships with women that he screwed up over the years.

He's inspired and in love with the playing of these guys, goes into battle with them, and then for one reason or another they split on him. Bucket leaving was massive. Its like having this beautiful mansion you just finished building that you've labored over for years, [ in this analogy, it would be getting the sound of Bucket and Robin blended so well on record and in a live setting] and the second the last brick is layed, it gets demolished with a tornado.

Somehow you find the will to rebuild, the same contractors aren't available so the craftsmanship is different, but it's still good [i.e. Bumblefoot].

Then the second Finck departure hits like an
earthquake and just levels the mansion completely.

I think after that Axl was shell shocked. Watching this vision he'd worked so hard to legitimize [albeit to mixed reviews] officially disintegrate. Then just says fuck it "im not rebuilding...I'll just rent a condo" and we got DJ.

Robin leaving has turned out to be a good thing. As a result we have Robin on Atlas and Monsters

Im sure this woukd have been the same outcome if John5 joined after bucket.

His playing doesnt sound prominent. Its mostly Robin or Slashs playing i hear the most.
The guy has been in the band for 23 years and on these singles hes still playing second fiddle to slash or previous guitarists.
On Monsters I hear Slash and Robin center stage with the solos. I hear Richard the same way I hear Duff playing on the track. He's playing but not as much as Slash and Robin are.

Axl sounds like such a moany, whinging prick on these singles.
Axl didnt need to release music during the late 90s,he really needed a psychiatrist.

Could it be Monsters would be album only and not a single because Robin plays on the Monsters solo? His parts kept on Monsters like they were for Atlas.
