Unreleased Chinese Democracy Era Songs Definitive List & Information

If Slash didn't rejoin cd2 with Duff was getting released in 2016. According to a source.

So we got a full album post cd done and ready to mastered.

You take going down off the track list because Stinson was gone and replaced by Duff.

I find it really difficult to think UMG would invest in releasing CD2 after the bestbuy debacle,the shit 12-14 lineup, add to this the band were on the verge of playing bowling alleys and county fairs.

They wernt exactly raking in the touring money and being the top touring band during this time.

Maybe UMG would agree with releasing CD2 but with the reunion happening first as a carrot stick to Axl.

The CD2 album photos would show a tophatted guitarist and new fans would think Assba was Slash.

Anything that has to do with them releasing something, I take with a grain of salt because of the history of the band. 

I'm not saying that I think your source is wrong, I'm sure the band intended to release it around that time. Axl was posting cryptic shots in the studio on Twitter. But the way this band works is that stuff never comes out. There's always something in the way or something that isn't ready or goes wrong.

According to industry scuttlebutt, the negotiations for the Best Buy deal were frantic and down to the wire. "These guys didn't have finished music until a month before," says one source. "It was insane. In all honesty, Axl was working on everything – the art, everything—right to the end." Indeed, in a web chat on a Guns N' Roses fan site, Rose (manager Andy Gould later confirmed that it was really him) stated that there were plans for multiple covers which may emerge in the future, that he has a favorite, and it's not the one currently in stores.

There are rumors of a Guns N' Roses tour this year. And hell, Axl might even deign to submit to an interview. But thus far, Chinese Democracy sales have been disappointing: Fewer than half of the 1.3 million copies Best Buy took on have departed their warehouses.

There was a small window of time in the 2000s where exclusive rock CDs were a big deal at Walmart (mainly AC/DC). If they miss this window to pawn off the album on a money mark like Best Buy, I don't know if they ever find a way to release the album. 

So I look at this bands history, and the idea that they would release an album at any time is something I'm always going to take with a grain of salt. Not that they didn't intend to release CD II at various points, I just don't think it gets done.

It’s so frustrating that the original newgnr with Buckethead didn’t get a chance to release all the stuff they toiled over.  Axl wasted it all, on the other hand his inability to release stuff actually saved my ears from hearing anything with BJ Assbasha pasted on so I should be forever grateful in that sense.

He put together a band that could have been very topical and popular in the early 2000s. Music is cyclical and there are new generations of fans that aren't stuck in what happened 10-20 years before. It's the reason why Dave Grohl was able to become "The Foo Fighters guy" and not "The guy who was in Nirvana". You'd be shocked at how many people born in the late 80s or early 90s who see Dave Grohl as Foo Fighters first and Nirvana second. It could have been the same thing with NuGNR vs OldGuns, even if it would have been impossible to straight up "bury Appetite".

It's really sad that he lost Buckethead. You think of the kind of luck the guy has where if he felt that Slash was a very special guitar player who was difficult to replace, he'd find someone like Buckethead only a few years later. 

It's really frustrating as a fan, because as much as we joke about Axl and the band we all wanted to see them succeed and release cool music. We've all heard the songs, and there is no reason at least musically why CD shouldn't have been released in 2001 or 2002.

So the thought process i was told is that with Duff returning as a fulltime member to the band after the 14 Vegas shows and cd2 already have been presented to umg for release years prior and the deal with Slash not finalized that if Slash didn't rejoin cd2 would've been released in 2016 with Duff re recording all of Stinson parts.

A tour to promote the album would have started in 2016.

Basically the principle of sunken cost, that if cd2 and the tour didn't meet expectations or did poorly then whatever obstacles that were preventing Slash from rejoining and Axl's leverage would be greatly decreased. 

Essentially all roads led back the reunion. Expect we would've got cd2 in 2016 before the gnr big 3 reunited is what i was told.

I doubt Eye you gets released after being sampled in hardschool and didn't have many lyrics to begin with

Ides of march is believed to be a instrumental only.

Light my fire has been removed to be a cover of the doors song.

2 more we can eliminate as either name changes or fake.

The Rebel is either just a instrumental or renamed 

Dragon is either fake or a name change.

Cuban Skies doesn't appear on the village sessions in titles that we got from the leaked village sessions disc.

Scrapped, This I Love, The General and Monsters ? are the only songs that have been released on the village sessions disc that were leaked to the public that weren't on the disc ?

So out of the 9 we should probably subtract some songs but that's hard without more information.

So you take the 8 that have been released or scheduled to post reunion and the 19 left overs with subtractions most likely.  You got 14 to 17 songs for a new album of cd leftovers with Slash and Duff copy and pasted on new instrumentals recorded by the band.

With 9 completed songs being the best case scenario in my opinion of true unreleased songs in the vault from the cd era recordings.

I think after Chinese democracy there is only 14 to 18 completed songs remaining that aren't covers, Stinson songs, Instrumentals or Izzy songs . See my post above.
